Our fall Market is fast approaching and I thought it would be helpful for me to take a minute and go over some frequently asked questions I get from followers that are coming to our sale. Before I get to the questions I wanted to give you a little heads up/overview of things I would like for you to know if I could speak with each of you before the sale 🙂
First off, thank you for your interest and support. We have worked so hard and I have watched our vendors work so hard to pull of our biggest and hopefully best sale yet! Please remember this is a farm. Wear comfortable shoes. We work really hard to have the ground in good order, but it isn’t perfect and flip flops may not be the best choice 🙂
For those of you who have attended before the layout is going to be different this time. Parking is actually behind the barn. When you pull into the property there will be someone waiting for you to show you how to get to the parking area. We are hoping this will keep cars off the road and traffic from getting backed up and everyone safe.
Please be kind and patient. We are prepared to get everyone through the gate as fast as possible so you can get to hunting some good finds!
Make sure you measure before you come! Last sale we sold a lot of old doors people were going to put on their pantry and they turned out so cute!
Ok, here are the answers to some of our most frequent questions! If you have any more please just comment below!
Where is it?
The Broken Oak is located in the heart of Missouri right outside of Rolla. The barn is on a little 45 acre farm just about ten minutes from town. Our physical address is 15751 State Route F, Rolla MO.
Directions are on our website. Just click on the directions tab. www.brokenoakbarn.com
How many vendors do you have?
This sale we have our largest amount we have ever had. We are hosting 26 vintage and handmade vendors as well as 2 clothing vendors and one store carrying farmhouse inspired décor.
Do I Need to bring cash and how much money should I bring?
It is $2.00 per person to get into the sale, this gets you admittance for the whole day. So if you get home and decide there was something you cant live without you can always come back and get it 🙂 Some of our vendors are set up to take cards and are happy to take checks, others are cash only. When I attend a market like ours I like to be prepared for the unexpected and bring plenty of cash so I don’t miss out on something I have been on the hunt for. We do have a handful of people each time who run back to town to go to the ATM.
Should we bring a truck? maybe even a trailer?
It all depends on what you are looking for. If you see a particular piece of furniture or larger item, then yes. Items tend to go very fast, especially in the morning so if you have your heart on something you will probably want to be prepared. Once items are paid for vendors are happy to hold them until you can get back that day with a truck or trailer.
What if it rains?
If it rains we will always still have our market. Throw on your rubber boots and grab an umbrella… Vendors work for months and months preparing for this sale and we just go on as planned. We make the best of it as much as possible and have wonderful shoppers who do the same!
Anyway I can get in early?
The sale begins at 8. Unfortunately at this time we do not permit any early shoppers EXCEPT for the ones who have won our early pass giveaway which gets you into the sale fifteen minutes early.
How do I become a vendor?
We are a primarily vintage and unique handmade market. If you sell or make something you feel would be a good fit you can always email me at contact@brokenoakbarn.com if applications on our website are not live.
Once applications are live for each sale everyone is encouraged to apply. Don’t be discouraged if you have applied and didn’t get accepted. We only have so many spaces for each category and your category just may have already been full.
Remember, this is a farm. Wear comfortable shoes and make appropriate arrangements if you plan on attending!
I hope this was helpful! And once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Y’all bless me so much and I feel like we have the best shoppers around! See you Saturday!
