I will admit I have been surprised time and time again at the things that jump out and bring me purpose and enjoyment from our barn sales.
One that might seem small, but I truly love, is seeing people smile while they are at the barn.
…..
Two years ago this spring when we purchased the property where the barn is located I never imagined how grateful I would be at how it brought our neighbors together.
Since buying the property and starting Broken Oak we have met nearly everyone on both sides of the highway from the barn to our home.
Neighbors are wonderful.
We took cinnamon rolls to one of the couples we have gotten close to over Christmas and they told us they are thrilled to have neighbors and friends that live close.
In the country neighbors are your community and we are grateful for ours.
Believe it or not a lot of our neighbors help at the sales with parking and set up and I truly couldn’t do it without their encouragement and support.
…..
Another thing I absolutely love about our sales is seeing items from the barn become part of your home.
We have some talented shoppers at the Broken Oak!
I love when people purchase things for their weddings and special events in their lives too, but hands down my favorite is seeing pieces come to life in your homes.
…..
Some of you may have purchased a cinnamon roll from the sweet girl pictured above at our spring sale.
She is my childhood neighbor and friend Becca. She and her husband are adopting a young girl from India soon and she has worked so hard earning the money it takes to adopt.
I was so thankful to have her at our spring market and help get them closer bringing their sweet girl home.
I love how the barn helps people.
Beyond me it provides ways to help people that I never imagined and I am always looking for more ways for it to help people.
…..
And last, but definitely not least…
I love the people.
Love for community is deeply rooted in my heart and I never realized it until I started having barn sales.
We have the kindest, most genuine helpful vendors I know of. They help each other and encourage each other and I am so grateful for how their attitudes bless my heart and our sale.
The behind the scenes community is something I treasure as well. You will never know how much I enjoy your questions about your own dreams or business. I love all the messages and pictures you send of how you incorporate items from the barn into your homes and lives.
Words could never express how much I have enjoyed getting to know each and everyone of you this past year. We have people travel from all over and it is such a gift for me to see you and watch you enjoy what we worked so hard six months putting together.
Thank you for being a part of my dream.
